Streaming Troubleshooting
Please follow the steps below if you noticed intermittent pauses or a complete freeze during the playback of the test video:
Make sure your computer is configured appropriately for using DoTheMod. The following are minimal technical requirements for smooth playback:
- A broadband internet connection with download speed greater than 800 Kbps. Most cable, satellite, and ISDN internet connections provide sufficient download speeds; dial-up connections do not.
- Intel® Pentium® 3 (or compatible) or higher running at 933MHz or faster, equipped with 128 MB of RAM (1GB recommended) and 40 MB of available hard disk space (recommended)
- Adobe Flash Player - if you don't already have it or are using an older version, download the Adobe Flash Player for free at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
- (Recommended) The latest version of your internet browser. Check for updates and upgrade your browser software if necessary.
- Note to corporate users: If you are using dothemod.com at work and are experiencing problems with playback, please be advised that some firewall products interfere with streaming. Try dothemod.com at home!
Once you have determined that your computer meets all of the above requirements, restart it and run the test again.
- Make sure no other applications are running during the test. That includes anti-virus software and any other applications set to run in the background. (Don't forget to turn them back on when you are done!)
- If running on battery, plug your computer into a power source before retesting our video.
If after following the steps above the test video is still not playing smoothly, or if your computer falls short of the minimal technical requirements, you may conclude that our service will NOT work properly on your computer. We are very sorry! Do visit us again when you have access to a different configuration.
Thanks for your interest in DoTheMod!
